The chest is one of the most requested men's areas and one of the most androgen-dependent: hair appears and thickens here with age. For the laser that means plenty of pigment and a strong response, but also different settings: men's hair is thicker than women's and sits deeper, so the power is set higher. The whole front surface of the chest is treated; over the breastbone the skin lies directly on bone and is more sensitive than at the sides, so the handpiece is moved more slowly there. Around the areolas the work goes spot by spot, and the areolas themselves are covered. The border with the abdomen is agreed before the start. The area is done as a course at 4–8 week intervals.
Some men ask not to remove the chest hair altogether but to make it noticeably sparser — that is settled by the number of visits rather than by a setting, and you can stop at any stage. Full removal takes 6–10 sessions on average, and with dense men's hair more visits are needed more often than for women. Preparation: shave the chest the day before or on the day of the visit, no waxing for 2–4 weeks before the session — it is used often in this area, and after it the session has to be postponed. That is what people most often come for: the less hair there is, the fewer reasons for ingrown hairs and irritation. Only a course removes the problem completely, not a single session.
Large areas are done as a course at 4–8 week intervals, on average 6–10 sessions. The laser sees dense dark hair well, so men's areas often respond confidently.
The price depends on the size of the area and the length of the session: where the hair is denser and there is more work, the price is higher. Small areas cost the same as in the general price list.
We do not work with the laser over tattoos or moles — we go around those spots or cover them. Fresh scars and skin damage need time to heal; the specialist will look at the area at the examination.
Less well: the laser follows pigment, and there is almost none in grey and very light hair. We will say so plainly before the course starts, not after payment.
The treatment takes place one to one with the specialist, and everything outside the working area is covered. For our staff this is ordinary work to protocol — including delicate areas.
